The thing about human beings is that they form social bonds. But these bonds are not limited just to other humans. No, humans will bond with just about anything. Dogs, cats, plants, inanimate objects, even deadly predators like bears and wolves. More importantly, sometimes these bonds can compel to go to where to volunteer in Eastside Detroit.
Volunteering is when a person takes their time, their limited, and valuable time, and then puts it into work. However, instead of being paid with money, they do it for free. This is when people use their time and effort in order to do something to better the communities in which they live.
Make no mistake about, with seven billion people in the world, at least ten of them have to be legitimately good and virtuous and kind. This means that when they volunteer, they do it literally out of the kindness of their hearts. Not because they want to look good, but because they are.
Then there those who do it as a form of penance. They do something bad. Not so bad that they end up in a jail cell. But bad enough that they feel all kinds of guilty over it. So they help somebody else out.
Opportunities to volunteer will be easy to find on most days, but during certain holidays, when everyone feels some level of humanitarian obligation, they will be harder to come by. Still, the internet is something that exists in the modern world. So it can be used to find such opportunities with ease.
One such way to do it is to give a voice to those that do not have one. Studies have shown that animals, at least dogs, are sentient. Animal shelters are packed to the brim with them sometimes. They need people to come in and help them out.
Of course, without the environment, nothing survives. But, hopes should not get too high. Climate change, and the devastating effects thereof, is not going to be solved by a handful of people picking up some garbage and planting some seeds. But the biggest and tallest trees begin their lives as small seeds.
Now, on to the people. Sometimes, life just deals someone a bad hand and they end up on the streets. On these streets, they often find themselves having to scrounge garbage canisters for food and not having a secure place to sleep. Now, there are places out there that offer meals and beds, but their space and supplies are limited. Not to mention they also sometimes lack the manpower needed to keep them running smoothly.
Life is not always easy. A lot of times, it is hard. But with a human population of seven billion, there are more than few helping hands around.
